Ridehalgh the Victor in Boreham Wood Man of the Match Poll

In our latest Man of the Match vote of the new season which related last Saturday's shock 2-0 home defeat to Boreham Wood, it was Liam Ridehalgh who was the best of the bunch to take his second award of the month.....

After a full week of voting following Tranmere's surprise 2-0 home defeat to Boreham Wood last Saturday afternoon, we can now reveal that the Man of the Match for Tranmere's pretty disappointing performance, as voted for by you the fans and readers of this site, was once again Liam Ridehalgh. 

After winning the Man of the Match for the opening away game of the season at Gateshead which Rovers won 4-1 thanks to a goal and two assists from Ridehalgh, the left back turned winger has now made it two awards this month as you voted him the best of a pretty disappointing bunch last Saturday.

As you can see below, the poll saw a total of 25 votes cast during the full length voting period this time around, which considering the nature of the Rovers performance and the reaction of the fans after tha game is quite a high voting turnout.  The vote was fairly one-sided this time around with Ridehalgh polling three times as many votes as his two nearest rivals and polled more votes than the joint second place players polled out together.

Ridehalgh polled 36% of the vote (9 votes) comfortably ahead of Ritchie Sutton and Martin Riley with 12% of the vote each (3 votes).  Three players failed to poll any votes and they were all starters in the game (Scott Davies, Lois Maynard and Jonathon Margetts) but two substitutes, Nathan Blissett and Adam Mekki both managed to poll 4% of the vote each (1 vote).
