This really is a must win game, anything but a win will send our fans into meltdown. I'm going 2-1 with Jennings scoring a late winner

Nearly a full squad for Mr.Brabin to pick a winning formula. We have to have a run of luck sometime a 2-0 comfortable win Tranmere.

Travelling up from the south again tomorrow for the match but looking at the weather forecast was wondering if there may be a game?? Snow forecast overnight apparently! Any updates would be appreciated please before I set off at 7am!! Hope the game is on as I am forecasting (no pun) a big win 😁

It's meant to be cold but I'm pretty sure the snow is only forecast for high ground so provided the covers are down if required then I reckon you should be fine!

Don't sue me for travel costs though if it gets called off!

one of the biggest games in brabins career for me, if we get beat he`ll lose the fans maybe for good and i think the noise of dissatisfaction from the stands will go right in palios`s ears, the work off the pitch is pheonomonal but on the pitch he deserves so much better

Well said, I think that sums it all up nicely. Surely Mr Palios won't tolerate very much more of this dross? If we carry on playing like we have been doing recently then the crowds are going to end up back down where they were in the mid-1980s. (When actually the football was a whole lot better.)
Anyway, I don't know what to expect tomorrow. I'll just turn up and hope.

He may lose some fans if we don't win but let's face it some went weeks ago (far too early) in terms of Brabin and others are much more prepared to stick with him for the longer term and rightly so in my opinion.

It's an important game for the team in terms of getting back on track but that's about it - building it up to be anything more just makes it worse I think.

Now we have got back on the winning trail, let's build on it by making tough decisions for the rest of the season.

First of all drop Jennings and play Harris and Maynard to provide more energy in the middle.

Secondly, stick to 4-4-2 and only play two strikers. If this means putting GTF on the bench then so be it. Even if we have to play ridehalgh or Tomlonson while Dawson isn't fit.

I reckon if we do that, then we will go from strength to strength!!!

Dominated most of the game today but still frustrating in the final third.

A fully deserved win today though!

It's gutting to see fans in social media gutted that we won so they can't bash Brabin. So disappointing to see.

at last we get a ref decision go our way, mind u on the radio, they said we should have had an earlier penalty that wasn't given. hope we can build on this and go down to woking and get 3 points. result of the day must go to Halifax, winning 4-1 at gateshead and with 10 men, also jimmy Harvey in charge of Halifax today.

I criticised Norwood after the last home game and rightly so in my opinion but today again my opinion he was immense not just because he scored both goals but he ran his socks off well deserved 3 points deadly as soon as they scored against the run of play although it was a great strike there was a few idiots around me calling for brabin to f***off which was unfair what could he do about the goal

We definitely need to keep supporting our team but sometimes that support is offering constructive criticism.

We have dominated every game I have seen but it's only been the games where the team has had balance, that you have walked away with confidence for the season.

Like I said earlier, if we make tough decisions now we will reap huge dividends. If we don't, I still think we may struggle.

A win is a win, should help our confidence. Not convincing though, wierd that we can't score with so many so called strikers . Don't look promotion material yet.

We created enough clear cut chances to have won 2 or 3 games today.

Not only did I think Norwood had a good game 100% endeavour and two goals but, I thought Adam Mekki played really well until subbed.

I am afraid Jenno at present isn't worth the automatic selection whether his personal performances would improve if he wasn't captain?

I thought Liam Hogan also played well on his return out of position until Riley's injury.

We have to capitalise on our chances the better teams wouldn't have been so generous as Guiseley.

Re: Match Discussion: Guiseley (H)

Time will tell whether the late goal will be a turning point in our season but this was by far the most important result of our campaign so far. Guiseley are the smallest team in our league and I bet that they are gutted that they lost so late on. Yes they had a dodgy defence and you can clearly see why they have shipped lots of goals recently[could have happened again today]but going forward on the break they caused us some problems and could easily have scored a couple more themselves. One thing they didn't do was close us down, bully and intimidate us like some other teams have done in this league. They did actually try to play football.

Having said that we made very hard work of it and it looked like the game was going to peter out into a draw until the penalty.Mekki and Norwood were clearly our two stand out performers. Mangan,Jennings and GTF IMO had stinkers. The rest all tried but were no better than soso.

I wouldn't have played the same starting line up as Brabin-Sutton and Maynard would have been on from the beginning if I had my way.

BUT I cannot overstate this enough-these three points could prove to be vital at the end of the season and should do wonders for confidence.

AND please can we stop trying to walk the ball into the net so much.It costs us big time.

Yet beating Chester 2-0, Bromley 4-0, Gateshead 4-1 and beating the top 2 would suggest different and no Dawson against Gateshead either

Whereas had people judged Forest Green on their 4-1 defeat to Macclesfield earlier in the season followed by 4-5 poor results that saw them get 2 points, they would have looked like relegation fodder, given the opposition were bottom 10.

It's swings and roundabouts sometimes, but hopefully this good result kick starts some kind of revival, because another 2 wins in a row would certainly recover some ground and the top 2 drew, so that's pegged them a little bit, though that margin is still pretty significant.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

We were the better side no question. Kept at it and got there in the end. Notice some fans have taken up moaning before a mistake actually happens which is laughable to say the least. Hope we can kick on now and put some kind of run together to get us back in the mix

Have to say obviously happy to take the result but we , as a group of players , continue to under perform from the level we need to be at to get out of this league (in an upward direction).

I think the squad we have should be able to compete but isn't helped by playing too many players out of position and having a lack of players with the ability to hold the ball up in the final third of the pitch.

Additionally we seem to have an inability to support the player on the ball, how many times does that player have someone running beyond him or any passing option at all ? Answer not very often.

Looking at today's formation we still seem a long way off from knowing what our best team is ,the midfield formation doesn't control enough to feed the strikers with the ammunition they need.

Lucky win in the end but on reflection of the game we deserved the points. Deadly have to agree with you on Norwoods work rate today he was running all game, but issue I had was we had no real width as he was all over the place, and he can't really cross a ball.
Mekki MOM for me today ran all day and was Creative. Mangan was often to deep I don't see him playing the loan striker.
Balance still wrong for me we had to many times when no enough options for the player on the ball. Riley has to be the 3rd choice CH as he always looks nervous and poor distribution.
Would have Maynard in the middle.
If we keep creating chances though the goals will come but still lack conviction in front of goal. Be interesting to get a view from their fans today

I think we got lucky. The silly little over passing all the time has no end product at all. The corners going short all the time is a waste of a corner and takes two players out of the game. The was so many times today that not one player moved for the ball for a passing option. We play very slow and predictable football that's why a lot of times the ball gets cut out. I'm happy that we got a win but it was not convincing win at all.

Every ball is a white ball............TRFC

A much needed win hopefully a turning point in our season and we can move on up the table but I still have huge doubts over Brabin as our manager.

After the 2 away games this week we will be half way through the season and with the squad we have should be challenging at the top of the table.

Two wins in the next two games and we will be back in a play off position. The fact remains, however that we consistently struggle to beat weak teams like Kiddiminster,Southport,Barrow etc.. Lack of width seems a factor with too many shots coming from outside the box. That said we lack a real 20+ goals a season striker.with a couple of notable exceptions our wins have been by narrow margins. The return of Dawson will improve the balance of the side.Margetss has shown enough to demonstrate that he is not good enough,Stockton has not done enough at Southport to suggest that he will offer us much. In one sense we are awash with strikers but none of them are predatory..Moving a few out in the new year may provide scope to ring in something better

I keep reading about people saying "when we gel" and then see constant fluster for new players or thoughts on old ones we want back for some reason. We already have plenty of players through the middle. A couple of wide men accross the back and middle to reinforce. Our lack of scoring comes from lack of plan, if A doesnt work we have no B and sometimes we dont even have an A. Yes some forwards have struggled but they lack good service which is everything. Either the players are not good enough to carry out what the manager asks or hes not asking. Dont forget he has never won promotion and with some good clubs too. Luton moved on from him and went up. I think hes built a good base, we are solid and structured but lack imagination and flow. Instead of new players I would like to see a new first team coach alongside Brabin & Garnet, someone attack minded with a little something different to add to the mix.

After the game yesterday I would like to see Brabin have one aim for the training regime this week " Right lads I'm going to each of you the day off if you can beat the first defender with a cross, OK lads I'll see you all after lunch" Cannot believe how poor the crossing is, do we practice when we train. The crowd were having to tell the team what to do yesterday as the players have no communication between them, it's so obvious that they hadn't gelled, TranmerePete has it spot on, Thought that McNulty deserved the MOM award but he continues to produce howlers (one in each half) and that Harris had his worst game and I was dreading his next tackle for the fear of getting sent off, however it must be said that it was a pleasure to see a home win, I see that Barrow & Gateshead have sacked their managers tonight !!

I agree Deadly. I was walking out of the kop after the game chuffed that we got the win and one fan said

"gutted we won as i wanted him sacked today. Ah well hopefully we will lose on tuesday and he can go"

What kind of a fan comes to a game to hope we lose so the manager can be sacked?? Yes we have not been playing well but support the team and manager FFS!

I also saw a tweet on saturday morning about a fan saying

"i am not going to tranmere anymore after 25 years. Do not want to watch them anymore as i dont like what Brabin is doing to my club"

These are two fans that we do not need in my opinion. I was going to have a go at the first one but my Dad just told me to leave it

I often check the sheff utd line up when they play and he is hardly ever in it. reckon it must be persistent injuries. unless he is out of favour with nigel adkins. on the subject of former players, max power and wigan going well,, ever since john Sheridan took over at Newport, danny holmes has been relegated to the bench.

Danny Holmes has been injured i think.

Wallace wasn't the same player when he came back and, subject to that reckless challenge vs Wolves, he didnt seem to want to get stuck in as much as if he didnt trust his knee

Would be far too good for this level but dont particularly want to go back to ex players.

If we are to progress as a club we need fresh blood and train our own to be better players

Hopefully the campus in Leasowe will help this process

However the first proper game he had after the layoff, he rode a crunching challenge and scored, so I feel he wasn't wrecked even if some of his playing ability was clipped a bit.
