Rovers Agree Long Term Kit Deal with Puma

Tranmere have today proudly announced a five year kit manufacturing deal with the well known sports brand Puma.....
Tranmere have today announced a new long-term kit manufacturing deal with world sports brand Puma ahead of the proposals for the new kits for next season which are to be discussed at a Supporters Club Meeting on Thursday evening.
The relationship between Rovers and Puma will be managed by Genesis Sports and will see Puma producing the official playing and training kits for all Tranmere Rovers teams along with replica merchandise for Tranmere’s fanbase.
The new partnership will be effective from the start of next season (the 2016/17 season) and although no length of deal was originally announced, Tranmere Rovers Vice-Chairman Nicola Palios later confirmed on Twitter that the deal was for five years...

In addition to supplying the kit, Puma have also invested in Tranmere’s newly launched Club Shop with the aim of ensuring maximisation of sales through space and design which in turn gives better facilities for the fans.
Tranmere's Official Statement on the deal expressed the delight of those at the Club in partnering with Puma, a company whose football heritage and record of innovation has a strong affinity with our own.
Having extended and deepened its relationship with the FIGC (Italian Football Federation), signed 2013 Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund and bolstered its player portfolio with Sergio Aguero, Cesc Fabregas, and Mario Balotelli among others, Puma is defining itself as one of the top football brands, and continues to grow in the market.
Speaking about the new partnerssip earlier today, Nicola Palios said....
"We are excited to be partnering with Puma, they are an ideal partner for Tranmere as they have the experience and ability to deliver a superior quality and stylish product for the team and our fans."
Tranmere's Chief Operating Officer Peter Shaw added...
“The new shop and ticket office was only achievable with Puma's investment and will give our fans a one stop shop for all club enquiries and sales. The new store has already been a success in the recent weeks since opening and we envisage with Puma's excellent merchandise, sales will only be enhanced further”
Tranmere Rovers Official Supporters Club members will have the chance to see Puma’s proposals and the chance to vote on next season’s home strip on Thursday night from 7pm in the Arthur J. Gallagher Platinum Lounge. Supporters Fan Cards must be shown to gain entry to the lounge. Memberships can be purchased from the club shop prior to and on the evening of the event.

Am I the only one staggered that we've managed to get Puma on board as main & training kit supplier??
Really, REALLY promising news this, that we have that kind of pulling power for sports brands to be involved with us!

I think it's an obvious choice, the team fit the bill perfectly:
Pumas are threatened by extensive habitat loss and fragmentation through their range, as well poaching of some of their prey species.
The puma is the second heaviest cat found in the Western Hemisphere. Only the jaguar is heavier.
Pumas produce a variety of vocalisations, but cannot roar.
Pumas are classed ‘Near Threatened’

Most likely told Puma we've got a top four budget, a new progressive Manger who will build a attacking football side playing fast following attacking football, good sales man somewhere.

It's got nothing to do with Homebargin our failure it's all down to lack of funds into the squad and the club overall the past few year's. As every one knows Homebargin have a very good performance on the High Street and a turn over in £ million's.

It's got nothing to do with Homebargin our failure it's all down to lack of funds into the squad and the club overall the past few year's. As every one knows Homebargin have a very good performance on the High Street and a turn over in £ million's.
They only signed a 3 year deal and have not renewed yet. First season they entertained all there staff at every game in the Dixie dean suit, which had a much better atmosphere than the new platinum by the way, but not as cooperate. Over the last 18 months they have not been so evident. So may be a change on the horizon.

When was the last time we had a top kit manufacturer? Fila is about the closest I can think of, but they're pretty small compared to Puma.
Also can all the players be supplied with old school puma kings? Everyone knows the best players wore puma kings (and the rich kids preditors)

Does the press release not say "Managed by Genesis sports", I belive they are a Manchester company licensed to produce Puma goods in house, as someone says they already produce Chesters kit, I think they used to make Addidas years back, maybe wrong on that though.

respect your opinion borowhite, but some of those en-kay shirts we used to have never even had the club crest/badge on them. ( to me its essential to have it on the shirt.) i recall the claret shirt with sky blue sleeves away top not having the club badge on it.we actually wore those shirts at wembley in the mercantile centenary weekend in '88.( cant go to wembley without the club badge on the shirt.) anyway it was only a shirt but we did have a good team then so it didnt really matter i suppose. roles reversed now, snazzy kits but@#$%&teams. lol.

my all time favourite tranmere shirts..
HOME - the late 70s/early 80s white shirt with the blue diagonal
band with storeton motors written down the band and the umbro sleeves. no club badge but with TRFC initials.
AWAY - 2007 ( I think ) the vandanel dark blue shirt with the sky blue and white shoulders and sleeves and the club badge in the centre.

I still have the grandad collar one sported by Muir in the TT header image. Can't fit in it anymore lol. It has a badge, but must have been the year later model as it has Wirral on it. I used to have the claret & blue version too, Villa/Hammers style not the snazzier version we replaced it with. That had no sponsor on but it definitely had a full colour embroidered badge, but I might be mistaken.
