Previously on loan right-back signs a permanent deal until the end of this season……

Tranmere have this morning confirmed that right-back Lee Vaughan has signed a permanent deal with the Club until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Previously signed on loan from Cheltenham Town in late November, the 29 year-old has now had his contract with the Robins cancelled and has immediately been snapped up on permanent basis by Rovers Boss Gary Brabin.

Since arriving on loan, Vaughan has made eight appearances for Rovers having previously arrived at Cheltenham in the summer of 2014 and having made more than forty appearances for the Gloucestershire club, including eleven at the beginning of this season before arriving at Prenton Park.

As a youngster, Vaughan came through the Academy system at his home-town club Birmingham City before joining Portsmouth, Walsall, AFC Telford United and Kidderminster Harriers.

Speaking today of the signing of Vaughan, Gary Brabin said….

"Lee is an experienced defender and has settled into the squad very well since his arrival in November. He gives us plenty of energy down the right flank and I’m really pleased that we've been able to prolong his stay here at Prenton Park."

Signs permanently. I think he's been decent in all fairness.

Me too. I've seen people complaining about him but purely judging on what I've seen I think that he's been very good.

I'm happy, a player who is first and foremost a right back.

I think both full backs have been exposed at time by what appears to be a narrow midfield, strange to say that we have a narrow midfield with only one up front but it has certainly seemed that way at times - second half against Altrincham was a case in point.

He's been pretty good in most games I've seen him in-the Altrincham game was the worst I've seen him play. The Stockport right back[Danny Morton] that I saw on Saturday looked pretty decent and worth keeping an eye on for the future.

Agree with the comments so far. He's a right-back we've needed all season and hasn't done badly at all so far in my opinion.

Good news at last a decent signing until the end of the season a good fit experienced full back who has played well so far. All we need now is a decent striking partner for James Norwood.

Took a little time to settle in but overall looks competent and glad he has severed his links with Cheltenham.

Solid if unspectacular. I think with the way we play especially home we need our full backs to provide width and get some crosses in. Neither hill nor Vaughan are good at this.

However defending his is job first and foremost and he seems to do that o.k.

Seems decent enough, and better than most we've had to endure.
