Match Discussion: Bromley (A)

A place for fans of both Tranmere Rovers and Bromley to discuss Saturday afternoon's upcoming match away at Hayes Lane......

Following a weekend off last week after the previous weekend's much talked about comeback win away at Barrow, our match discussion thread returns once again as Rovers prepare to make another away trip, this time to Kent to face Bromley on Saturday afternoon for what will be the second meeting of the sides this season.  Tranmere will be looking to build on that win at Barrow and will be looking to do the double for the season over Bromley whom they beat 4-0 at Prenton Park earlier in the season.

Whether you are unable to make the game for any reason, or even if you are attending, this is the place to discuss all the pre-match build up including team line-up and score predictions, events during the match itself  as well as all the post match fall-out and analysis.   The thread is open to fans of both sides to discuss the events surrounding the game so if you haven't got a Message Forum accounts yet then why not sign up now?

Fans

Tranmere fans will be making the trip to Bromley in the National League on Saturday

During the game, Total Tranmere will also be providing Live score updates from Hayes Lane on our Facebook and Twitter accounts so if you don't already do so, why not follow us why not do it right now so you don't forget later!  Just click on the two links above to go to our Social Media accounts.

We do need a win and if we do I will start believing we can reach the playoffs! Hope springs eternal!

I am travelling down tomorrow. I assume the game is definitely on .Their game in midweek was postponed presumably the pitch was either waterlogged or frozen!!

Frozen pitch but weather over the next few days down here getting a lot milder so unless we have some freak weather the game will be on.

No reason why Tranmere can't win particularly with Norwood back, possibly a late addition signed on tomorrow perhaps and also players like Hughes capable of scoring and one or two others.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Now, just a guess based on 2 weeks worth of training and our trend for announcing players just before a match

Apparently we were looking at a player but he was too young and too thin. 1-0 win I hpoe

Based on recent signings and transfers out of the team I would say 2-0 Bromley.

gut feeling says a 3-1 win.

Made a last minute decision to make the trip so will be there loud & proud...although the other away games I've managed to get to have been Alty, Southport & Boreham Wood so haven't actually watched us win away from home yet.......I apologise in advance if we don't win and will ban myself from all future away games!

Paz, join the club of away day misery!! Braintree, Welling and Woking for me, all dire games!!! Hoping to put that dismal run to bed tomorrow. Me and the Mrs going and meeting up with two Bromley friends and sitting in the main stand. Be outnumbered but I'll give you all a wave across the pitch.

We haven't had any departures since Barrow have we?

Best result of the season when Bromley played at PP. But that was with two up front - Mangan & Margetts netting 2 each. With both gone I am going for a painful defeat. 2-0 Bromley.

Even a mid-table team would have aspirations of taking all 3 points off Bromley. It is just the sort of game that acts as a marker for the rest of the season. Win and we stay on the edge of the play off group and begin to establish the foundations of an extended run of good results. A loss or even a draw, is to continue in the vein of indifferent inconsistency that has characterised the season.
If we are serious about making a bid for promotion then we need to look to win these games and that means two up front. increasingly, I wonder if Brabins reluctance to do so is a sign that he does not think that we have two players capable of playing that role. Which makes it all the stranger that we release two strikers retain but brought no one in

4-0 At half-time forces Brabin to change tactics which results in free flowing, attacking football ending in a 5-4 victory (quoted in the press as being better than Liverpool's champions league final comeback v AC Milan).

A lot depends on how jenno plays. If he has a good game we will win 3_0. If he's below par 1-1 draw.

As stupid as it will sound our goal actually killed us! We totally dominated the game for the first hour pretty much, finally got the goal we deserved then they woke up and put us under pressure.

Defensively we were excellent though and it was an excellent all-round complete performance.

Still the same problem though. Totally dominated by the sound of it but just one goal to show for it. It's just asking for the opposition to nick an equaliser. Didn't happen today, but it will at some point.

I remember the words of mr palios back in april after our defeat at home park,.. ' this is a sad day for this proud old club but its not the end' well 4 wins outta 5 now and maybe we are starting to show a bit of pride, well done rovers, keep it up and lets march into them play offs and show em who is the daddy.

I hold my hands up, my score prediction was totally wrong as where my rants about Mangan. A well deserved victory with a good all round performance. Well done to all the supporters who travelled the long distance to Bromley you got your reward. It is the first time in weeks I am really looking forward to next weeks game.

I reckon we have just hit the defining period for the season.

If we continue the good results in the next four games (against lower opposition) we could arrive at the Cheltenham and Chester games in a very confident mood. Good results in those games could then open the door wide open to promotion.

We can still win this!!!!

A good result and the potential for momentum especially as the next team are second to bottom and Tranmere are now 2 points off the playoffs

Excellent performance for the first seventy minutes. Then the wind suddenly picked up in their favour,we went too deep and hung on determinedly till the end. Well deserved win-we should have been out of sight well before half time and the first half of the second half was just as good.

Vaughan for me was man of the match but there were good personal performances from all. It looked too like the Barrow result has had a big positive boost on the teams confidence.

Maynard looked somewhat fortunate to stay on the pitch early on after a clash with Ben Chorley. The ref didn't see it but the assistant did.

Did anyone else see the notice on the metal rail between the two sets of fans on our side which said ''In the interest of safety, please do not run in the stadium''.

Does that include those on the pitch?

Superb performance today, as Sub says totally dominated the game for the first 60 plus minutes and should have had the game dead and buried by then! Not complaining though as all the players put in a good shift and I thought both Jenno and Hill who have had a bit of flack recently both had excellent games. Just need to finish these games off as I was concerned Bromley would nick one from a set piece due to there height advantage. Thankfully they didn't! One concern is Maynard, allways looks to me as if he may get a red card, thought he was a bit lucky to stay on the pitch today? Overall a good day and things are looking up ☺

Yeah I spotted that too! Luckily it didn't apply to the on-pitch action today though!

A couple of months ago Tranmere had a notice please don't run out of the stadium 😡 Thank god things are starting to come together I think they have finally worked out how to play this league l remember the true warning from the friendly Bristol rovers fan about what to expect ,he was not wrong

Good performance and a clean sheet. Still need a few more goals think today it was 1 from 16 chances so always a chance of them nicking one.
Said I would take scrappy win so happy with decent win

Loved Scott Davies playing the game that everyone has played against us with the time wasting crawls to the ball at the end!
