Your chance to vote for your Tranmere Man of the Match from this afternoon's fully deserved 2-1 home win over Torquay United in the National League.....

Following this afternoon's 2-1 home win over Torquay United, we are asking you to vote for you Tranmere Man of the Match from the game as part of our post-match poll series.

Rovers dominated pretty much the entire game and were worthy winners as they gained yet another vital three points although they were made to work for the win in the final few minutes after the visitors were gifted what turned out to be a only a consolation goal by some sloppy Rovers defending.

Gary Taylor-Fletcher put Rovers into a deserved lead with just eight minutes remaining in the first half with what will surely be the goal of the season as he steered the ball in from some 25-30 yards leaving Lavercombe in the visitors goal with no chance.  The game remained with that 1-0 scoreline for the remainder of the opening half.

Rovers continued their dominance and at times neat play in the second half but had to wait until eleven minutes from time before getting a second goal.  Taylor-Fletcher was again involved as his high cross field pass picked out Norwood who brought the ball under control brilliantly and finished with ease.

That goal turned out to be the all important winner as Rovers conceded a sloppy goal just three minutes after they had doubled their lead and although the visitors had the possession in the final five minutes as they looked for what would have been an undeserved equaliser, Rovers were untroubled by Torquay and saw the win out comfortably as United failed to muster a chance..

To vote for your Man of the Match from the game simply vote on the poll on THIS LINK whilst the results will be published here in the next 48 hours.

Adam Mekki...an inspirational display, closely followed by Vaughan,Harris and Taylor-Fletcher.

Taylor-Fletcher by a mile. A great performance from him and he looks slimmer now too! Maybe some fans can lay off him a bit now.

Mekki had one of his poorer games for us I thought. He worked hard enough but his end product was disappointing to say the least!

He certainly needed that goal to get his reputation back on track. Maybe he can finally kick on and do something.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Michael Ihiekwe was outstanding at the back and gets my vote!

Mekki had the left back in his pocket. Taylor fletcher also played with desire. Norwood as ever always tried and never stopped. Ikiewie played well too. Maynard continues to improve and is what is needed - a combative midfielder. I give my MOM to Jay Harris, winning the ball lots and good distribution.

Harris for me too , did a sound job. I agree Mekki was very poor in end product today . GTF looked good , and McNulty looked like he'd put some more beef on.

GTF for me but, not just for the goal, general play was top quality and as his fitness improves I believe he will feature more frequently as MOM.

As stated, there were at least 3 or 4 more strong candidates and quite honestly, I can't remember a poor performance from anyone?

Nope! Vaughan looked decent again as he did last week at Bromley, the three CB's used did well as did Ridehalgh. Harris, Jenno and Maynard got stuck in and GTF and Norwood played well and both got goals!

Anyone else think GTF looks slimmer? (slimmer than when he arrived at least anyway!)

I see that the Dugdale effect still takes place on this subject after most games.

I'll let you work that out for yourself. But it wouldn't be any fun if we all had the same opinion all of the time.
