Our home form has let us down sorry. 1-2m
I'm not optimistic, but I don't think we'll concede 2 million goals. That's over 22,000 a minute!
A draw or loss would sum up the inherent pattern of the season. I just hope that we go for broke and play an attacking formation giving Harris an attacking mid field role. Home draws represent a poor result in terms of any promotion aspiration
If he doesn't 0-0 or 1-0.

What the?? No striker on the bench, a few days after sending Stockton out in loan, in a game we have to win???
Don't need striker if U playing for 0-0 😜

Defo deserved to win that game, FG team of dirty bustards and how they are second is beyond me!.
We didn't deserve to win it by any stretch because it was 1 all, you get what you deserve in football. We had 1 shot/header on target over the last 25 minutes at home against 2nd place who were down to 10 men when we are fighting for the playoffs. The endeavour is there but no the quality, and another game were we haven't capitalised. Story of the season we deserved this an that dirty teams, refs, fed up reading it.
Two teams above need only match us now and have the plus of two games in hand, which if they win is the fat lady, 8 point advantage with 7 to play, interested to know when they will be played. Wrexham need only match us then win the game in hand.

I like your optimism. Personally I thought FG were the better team, there manager has obviously done his homework and they realised there strengths weakness and limitations, and knowing they couldn't out football us came here allowed us to have the ball and lions share of possession but bullied our players, restricted our chances and showed great team ethic and commitment and got an undeserved point because they should have won 2-1 because there tactics worked a treat and probably would without the red card from the sh5te ref

We played some good football today but no end product. When we did cross no-one was in the box. They are cheats and dirty team but maybe that's what it takes to get out of this terrible league. We just can't score and it's killing our chance of promotion.
Quote:How many times this seaason have we heard that "we deserved to win, we were the better team, You have to put the ball in the net more times than the opposition do, and again we did'nt do that.We started this match with no striker on the bench. I've said it before Brabin has'nt got a clue how to change a game. he could'nt have brought another striker on even if he wanted too.Why send strikers out on loan and leave ourselves short.TranmereFanQuote:HiggosbootsQuote:TranmereFan

The only crisis is where does Jennings fit in if fit next week as both Hughes and Harris were excellent today (as Jennings has also been recently).
Today was certainly the most entertaining game I've seen at Prenton Park for a good long time and we dominated almost all of it. They took the lead after barely being in our half after a defensive mess-up from a long ball forward but aside from that we only had that tip over from Davies from the free-kick that really worried us.
Definitely two points dropped today from the way we played but a lot of positives to take and we look in a decent state ahead of next season bar one or two additions we will probably make anyway!

A really good and encouraging performance today from us! As much as I've stuck up for Higdon in recent weeks he doesn't get back into the side next week as far as I'm concerned.

They missed a sitter from a corner in the first minute of added time[their number 4].We played some reasonable football at times but possession means nothing if you can't get your shots on target. They were totally the opposite to the team we played at their place-some shocking tackles and plenty going on off the ball[they could and possibly should have had 4 sent off].
But for all our ''domination'' we only got 2 shots on target-the goal and Kirby's gentle flick-that really says it all.THAT is why we didn't win.
We missed Jennings who I believe has a calf strain.I also think Maynard would have been ideal in this game because of his physical presence. No striker on the bench in a game we needed to win was baffling.

Normally agree with a lot of your posts but think you've gone a little too far this time as FGR were woeful. Possibly one of the worst teams I've seen at Prenton Park this season (if you discount us that is; tongue in cheek before I get slaughtered!). I actually agree more with Deadly's positive comments on the game which is a rarity for me - no offense Deadly). Atmosphere was better today and had more of a feel of Prenton Park of days gone by. We did dominate and actually gave them a football lesson but as previously stated we lack a decent striker and our delivery of crosses does let us down. I guess we're all frustrated with dropping more points but shouldn't over-shadow the positives from today and I haven't said that for a long time. Cheltenham had far more class imho and I hope they win the league. Never thought I'd feel any positivity if you'd told me pre-match that we'd draw the game. Strange game football and meddles with your emotions no end. Having said that I'm as gutted as the next man as our play-off hopes seem to be drifting away and a bright sunset seems to now be a figment of our imagination.

A real antedote to some of the dross we get served up week in week out. Nantwich set up 4-3-3. Lots of pace up front and from the full backs, and fluidity from the middle 3, I came away thinking that half of their starting team would improve our squad. But the real stand out player was the no9. Everything that we don't have - power, height, mobility and pace to burn. His name is Liam Shotton - brother of Ryan. Really gave the Halifax centre halves a torrid time until his hamstring went. If I were a scout, I would be telling GB to sign him quick.
It really put in to perspective what we have had to endure this season - and what is possible at this level with Coaches willing to play progressive football.

I wouldn't disagree, I was just trying to show that as a fan of any side you can provide an argument for why your team deserved it. We regularly have people on here claiming we deserve points because of stats or how they perseve an opposition teams performance, more posession or shots doesn't necessarily mean a team were better. It as certainly a better result for FG and there manager would have bit your hand off for it at the start, doubt Brabin would have (at least I hope not)

The worries bubbled to the surface when we couldn't do anything with a numerical advantage and we didn't keep the ball well enough. Also concerned that we didn't change things around by bringing in more attack minded players for defensive minded ones, particularly for last five minutes. Remember, this was a key game to win and stay in touch with the promotion lack.
The net result is a little bit of resignation and disappointment because the result is now the be all and the end all.

Well I've bought tickets for the play off final, father & son early doors offer seated were the winners collect their hard won trophy and promotion to the real league, my lad will be wearing his SWA home shirt with pride but sadly today's performance brought reality finally home knowing that his team shirt will be the only Rovers one on view that afternoon, yes we were miles better than a very poor Green outfit and agree with others that they could have easily had 3 sent off, unfortunately no matter how much possession we have we just don't have the quality, forwards in the box or most importantly a decent cross into the box to beat most teams, yes most of the crowd were superb but the foul mouthed idiots in the town paddock and front row of the town end main stand need to take a very close look at themselves.
I was at the game with my son today and would rather him hear the odd obscenity than witness the assaults on our players that occurred today and the blatant gamesmanship (cheating if you will) but that's just my moral standards. I'm sure he hears worse in the school playground but a blatant elbow by paid professionals and role models would be unique in the very same environment. I know teachers get criticised but they don't sink this low!! Thought the crowd were excellent today and you will always get some industrial language imho in such an emotional sport. And of course, players and managers always avoid offensive language. My son is more upset by our play-off aspirations slowly disappearing than an expansion of his knowledge of words of critique by others.
You can argue that their tactics were a factor if this was a one off result rather than one that has followed a consistent pattern over the season of a failure to create and take sufficient challenges. Our home form has been pretty awful. Whilst always hoping to win it is rare to feel confident that we will take three points against any team. It is pointless to argue about another teams tactics, it stills amounts to eleven men and tactics alone do not win games. The same complaints were made after the Eastleigh game but they are far from unbeatable.
The frustration is not with the match but with the fact that too often we find it hard to win at home

I have not seen such a bunch of thugs on a football pitch like forest green since the 60s when I played in the old Birkenhead league where you were often threatened with death and destruction By some of the opposition in the dressing rooms before you even got to the game and it usually transpired,.Eastleigh are no better we are not going anywhere this season so if any other club deserves a play off place it's Braintree poxy stadium, shocking pitch. pile up of fixture crowds of average 600 some part time staff the same players have to play all games because of small squad and they beat Cheltenham they will get to the playoffs ,so how come with what we have we are not going to the playoffs so the question is how can a club like this perform as they do
A question Man UTD, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal are all asking, no easy answer or formula.
Been watching Tranmere since 1964 and its a long time since I had seen such an undisciplined team. Parkin getting booked for wacking the ball into the stand when FGR had a corner was just petulant. Awful away display not helped by being ahead in 5 mins.
They should had more than 1 off, but the little ref bottled it.
Hope Cheltenham get the auto spot, more deserved. Mind you then if we get FGR again in the 2nd v 5th event, then so be it.
