so still 6 weeks to go till the big day when the fixtures are released.. we could have a bit of fun in trying to guess what our 1st game will be.. there are 46 possibilities, i will start off by saying it will be Borehamwood Away.

hi sub, I will keep a list of this and make it a bit of fun. just hope we have 46 willing forum members to join in the fun. hoots mon has picked north ferriby away so do u wish to go with Lincoln away or change your choice? I make that 21 so far, thks guys. only 25 to go. still have over 5 weeks till fixtures are released so plenty of time for those that have yet to enter to name our opening day fixture.. still haven't come up with an idea for a prize yet. at the moment it will just have to be a case of , give yourself a pat on the back and get the missus to cook your favourite dinner, if u are to be the winner, lol.. any suggestions on a prize??? an all expenses paid trip to hk is out of the question i'm afraid.

Astroturf eh. Good job that artificial surfaces are not commonplace, or certainly not unregulated, otherwise maybe clubs like Chelsea would replace their pitch with Axminster and redo it after every 1-2 home games.

However in Tranmere's case it might be floor tiles in the region of 1.99 SqM, or the cheapest possible from Walkers or Bogans, not the expensive stuff .

At least Astroturf doesn't have the same reputation like it did in the 80's, for causing people physical concerns when they hit the deck.

Southport away please

Will be home for the first time in 5 years. Have a wedding in Cheltenham on the Friday but should be able for the Saturday. Forest Green would be ideal, mind

Gateshead away for me- its only 20 mins from where I live.

hi all, there are still 10 fixtures available to see what our first game of the new season will be, but only 3 days to go till fixtures are released so am running out of time.. what i suggest, is that if u have already entered then you can choose 1 more fixture. I will do this on a first come first served basis. so the first 10 will have an extra fixture.. if a new entrant comes in within the next 3 days then I will give them priority first. eg if 3 new entrants enter before july 6th then they get priority and so the first 7 that enter for another fixture get that 2nd choice fixture, hope u get my drift, thks.. these are the 10 fixtures still remaining..

Thanks Hong Kong Rover. So how did I guess correctly our opening fixture? I gambled that the there was a greater chance of having an away fixture as we were at home last season (Woking).
Then I discounted the possibility of a local derby which took out Wrexham, Chester, Southport and Macclesfield. I didn't want a game against any of the favourites for promotion or any of the four newly promoted sides who would play us as if it were their Cup Final. That left about 12 clubs away so I went for a team where we won the corresponding away fixture last season so that's how I chose Bromley. In other words, it was a random selection.
