With a draw in their last outing against Colchester United being enough to secure a play-off place, Thursday sees Morecambe make the relatively short trip to Prenton Park to face Rovers in the first leg of the League Two play-off semi-final.

For the first time in many months a crowd will be in attendance at Prenton Park albeit a smaller number than usual as Tranmere look to take an advantage into the second leg at Morecambe just three days later.

There was a pattern to the results of the two games between these sides this season with Morecmabe winning 1-0 at Prenton Park in October and Rovers returning the same result in January with a 1-0 win on the Lancashire coast,
