Aldo Wants To Play Again

Tranmere legend, John Aldridge is once again putting on his scoring boots today ahead of the Chairty Match. The goalscoring striker has applied his trades at both Tranmere and Liverpool, but says he cannot wait to be back playing on the grass of Anfield, something he hasn't done for a very long time.

Tranmere Rovers hero, John Aldridge has spoken out at how much he is looking forward to playing on the big stage again.

Aldo is one of the attacking options for Roy Evans when chosing his Liverpool Legends starting XI. Aldo, who recently was voted in the Total Tranmere Rovers Dream Team, speaks of how he is desperate to play at Anfield again.
 
Aldridge is heavily involved with the Liverpool legends Soccer Six teams and he last got a legends team together to play 90 minutes in 1995 for his benefit testimonial match. Then a Liverpool team from the 1987-88 season played against his Tranmere Rovers team with the match ending in a 4-4 draw, with Aldo playing 45 minutes each for both teams.
 
Aldridge told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Playing at Anfield again is going to be special for me and it's something I never envisaged doing again, especially in front of a big crowd.
 
"It's alright playing in the Soccer Six events with Liverpool but this is a huge bonus and it's for the right reasons as well, a great cause so everyone is looking forward to it.
 
"Seeing all the lads again is great. It's nice to see each other again and take the mickey out of each other, it's good banter and once we get out there Sunday we won't want it to end It's going to be very special.
 
"It is not a bad forward line we have out and I think Kenny will have to play in midfield because me and Rushie want to play 90 minutes!"
