Zola Case Goes Upfront

All Tranmere fans now know about the Calvin Zola case. But it has been going on since November, but now a local MP has set out to change all of it, that man is Frank Field, who is taking the case to Westminister in sight of getting Calvin Zola a visa to let him play for Tranmere Rovers.

The prolonged situation of Calvin Zola is now going all the way to Westminister, after local MP Frank Field is determined to get an answer to the problem.

The Republic of Congo striker hasn't played a game for Rovers since November, due to the Home Office going through an investigation into the right of residency in the UK.

Speaking about the case, MP Frank Field said :  "Calvin came to the UK with his mother, his mother applied for asylum but that case was rejected. Now another application has been put in where he is the one seeking asylum with his mother as a dependent.

"He has been granted a work permit but does not have a visa to remain here or status as an asylum seeker, so he cannot legally play using his work permit. I will ask the minister to exercise his discretion in the case. I am doing my very best for Calvin."
