Rovers Announce Two New Kits for Next Season

Tranmere Rovers have announced that the 2005-06 season will see the club introduce two new kits which are currently being finalised with manufacturer Vandanel. Next season will be Rovers second year with the kit manufacturer.

Chairman Lorraine Rogers has confirmed that next season, the away kit currently used by the team will be retained for another season but the home kit will be replaced by a new version in the early part of July.

In addition, to the new home shirt, Ms Rogers also announced that a new third kit will be launched some time in the autumn.  At the moment the colour of this shirt remains a mystery to the fans but further details of both the new shirts are expected in the final two home match programmes against Blackpool and Port Vale in the coming weeks.

Last season many fans were frustrated by the length of time taken for the kits to become available as everyone eagerly waited to see what they would look like.  When they were eventually launched just a week short of the start of the season, many fans expressed their annoyance at the quality of the kits, particularly the away shirt which was made of an unusual material.

Hopefully this time the new home shirt will be out at the start of July and maybe fans will be more satisfied this year over the style and quality of both the home shirt and third kit.

Speaking of the change of kits for a second year running, Lorraine Rogers said "some clubs launch a new home kit and away kit every year but whenever possible we try to ensure that each kit lasts for two years.  Our last away kit was used for three years which is very unusual but shows our commitment to offering value for money"

Obviously Rovers were forced to change both kits last year due to the change in manufacturer from Xara to Vandanel and hopefully the change of home kit this year will mean that from now on only either the home or away kit will be changed each year but not both together.
