After Saturday’s disappointing 2-2 draw at home to Gillingham, Rovers travel to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday evening for the first of two difficult League One matches away from home in the space of five days. Here Total Tranmere brings you all the news and stats ahead of the game.

On the back of yet another disappointing home draw, this time against Gillingham on Saturday, the last thing Rovers would really want is two difficult away trips in the space of five days. However, the fixture lists are often unkind and so Rovers travel to high-flying Huddersfield on Tuesday prior to Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest.
Huddersfield currently find themselves in third place in League One but level on points with leaders Swansea and second placed Southend United. The Terriers could not manage a win away at Colchester on Saturday but instead had to settle for a 1-1 draw that keeps them up with the leaders at this early stage.
Huddersfield have only lost one of their last six games at home but it was a heavy 4-1 defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe United. The other five games in the last six have been wins. In their last six games home and away, they have also only lost once with one draw and four wins.
In contrast, Rovers recent away form has looked none too promising with only one win in the last six. Rovers only away win this season came at Chesterfield when they triumphed 2-0.
The one thing that Tranmere perhaps have to their advantage is that they have a reasonably healthy record against Huddersfield in recent years including a double over them last season with a 6-1 aggregate (3-1 at the Galpharm Stadium and 3-0 at Prenton Park).
In the first meeting at the Galpharm Stadium last season, Theo Whitmore put Rovers ahead after 15 minutes before Pawel Abbott equalised for the home side before half-time. In the second half though Theo Whitmore added his second of the evening and Chris Dagnall added a third just four minutes later to give Rovers the points.
At Prenton Park in the return game, Rovers were 2-0 up at half-time through Dadi and Hume before Gareth Roberts added a third injury time to give Rovers a comfortable looking win.
A point will probably be a decent result against an in-form Huddersfield side but a win would do the team the power of good.

Huddersfield Town: – The Terriers are without Martin McIntosh (knee) and David Mirfin (hamstring) but Gary Taylor-Fletcher is pushing for a starting place after scoring for Town at the weekend in their 1-1 draw at Colchester.
Tranmere Rovers: – Rovers are still without Calvin Zola (foot) and Ian Sharps (knee) but the only new fitness concern is Danny Harrison who broke his nose against Gillingham on Saturday. Despite missing training on Monday, the midfielder has not been ruled out of this game at the moment.
