Boost for Rovers as Loanees Return

Paul Brown returns from his loan at Accrington Stanley and Brian Little also announces that Paul Linwood is likely to be recalled from his loan spell at Wrexham later this week which will strengthen Rovers squad prior to Friday's must win home game with Scunthorpe United.

After a torrid week on the pitch, Rover's squad has been somewhat strengthened by the news that Paul Brown has returned from his loan spell at Accrington Stanley and defender Paul Linwood is likely to be recalled later this week from his loan spell at Wrexham.

Accrington Stanley Manager John Coleman has allowed Paul Brown to return to Prenton Park after his one-month loan spell came to an end this weekend and Brown will now look to break into the Rovers first team again at a time when some of the players have a lot to prove in order to keep their places, particularly in midfield.

Following Rovers 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, Rovers manager Brian Little announced that a hamstring injury picked up by Paul Rankine on Friday is likely to mean that Paul Linwood will be recalled from the second month of his loan spell at Wrexham.

When a second month of the loan deal was agreed, Rovers ensured a clause was inserted that enabled them to recall Linwood at 24 hours notice.  It seems likely that that clause will now be activated and with Ian Sharps having returned to full training this week, Brian Little has a few more options at his disposal.
