Tranmere Rovers v Huddersfield Town Preview

Following the visit of the then League leaders Southend United to Prenton Park a fortnight ago, Rovers now face another difficult task in front of their own fans as the third placed Yorkshiremen of Huddersfield Town come to Prenton Park for the latest Friday Night Football encounter.

Rovers will be seeking revenge for a heartbreaking and somewhat fortunate late win for the Terriers when the two sides met at the Galpharm Stadium back in September.  On that occasion a Schofield goal three minutes from time handed the home side all three points in a game where a draw would probably have been the fairest result.

Tranmere are unbeaten in their last nine matches but only three of them have been wins with all of the other six ending as goalless draws including the last four matches.  In their last nine games away from home, Rovers have lost just twice which includes the contraversial FA Cup defeat at Bradford in November.

The Terriers have inconsistent form of late away from home but two of their recent defeats on their travels included an FA Cup third round defeat at Premiership Champions Chelsea and also a defeat at high-flying Brentford.  Their last away win in the league was at Yeovil back on November 12^th.

However with the goalscoring antics of Pawel Abbott, Andy Booth and Danny Schofield, the Terriers, managed by Peter Jackson are a good side in League One and Rovers will have their work cut out to get all three points.

Tranmere Rovers:  Tranmere are without goalkeeper John Achterberg (groin) and new loan signing David Raven (ligament strain) but otherwise have a clean bill of health as Carl Tremarco returns from a broken wrist.

Huddersfield Town: The Terriers have Andy Booth available again and therefore have a full squad to choose from for the visit to Prenton Park.
