Rovers are on the road again this Friday as they travel to South Yorkshire to face struggling Rotherham United at Millmoor. Rovers will be hoping to gain three more vital points that will hopefully see them move clear of the relegation fight once and for all in what has been a frustrating season.
The Millers go into the game on the back of a 3-1 defeat at near neighbours Doncaster Rovers last Saturday, a game at which Rovers Manager Brian Little was present for a spying mission on his sides next opponents.
Rovers last match was the excellent 3-0 win over Port Vale last Friday night which brought a two match winless run to a halt and gives Rovers confidence ahead of the trip to Yorkshire. Away from home, Rovers have only lost once away from 2006 in a 1-0 defeat at Oldham and the Whites have only lost once further match away in the League since October 15th last year.
Despite their increasingly desperate league position, the Millers have a decent home record of late, having only lost once at home in the league since December and have won three of their last six at Millmoor.
Tranmere have drawn four of their last six away games with the other two being the defeat at Oldham and a 2-1 win at Swindon.
There were no meetings between the two sides last season as Rotherham were experiencing Championship football but in the earlier meeting this season between the two sides, Tranmere triumphed 3-2 thanks to goals from Chris Greenacre, Calvin Zola and Danny Harrison in a game which saw Barker sent off for Rotherham and Davies sent off late on for Rovers.

Rotherham Utd: The Millers’ only likely absentee is midfielder Paul McLaren who is still recovering from a leg injury.
Tranmere Rovers: Rovers will again be without on-loan Wolves keeper Matt Murray who is suffering from an Achilles injury and he is joined on the sidelines by Jason McAteer who has missed two days of training due to illness. Defender Ian Sharps who came off at half-time in the 3-0 win over Port Vale is expected to retain his place in the side.
