Player Move Rumours Increase as Summer Approaches

As summer approaches, football fans everywhere get ready for the silly season as rumours – some wild and others more realistic – begin to do the rounds. Will Rovers be linked with Robbie Fowler again this summer? Total Tranmere brings you a brief look at the latest Tranmere rumours from the Media.

 

As the first rumours of the summer start to hit the national press, Total Tranmere brings you a look at he latest rumours surrounding the possible ins and outs that may take place at Prenton Park this summer.

 

Both the Sky Sports and Teamtalk websites have reported today that recent Rovers trialist Chris Slater is also being chased by Wrexham, Blackpool and Crewe although Tranmere are hoping that the 22 year-old Chasetown defender will remain at Prenton Park over the summer.

 

Another non-league player that Tranmere have been linked with is TNS goalkeeper Gerard Doherty who starred for the Welsh Premier League side during their two-legged Champions League qualifying tie against Champion's League holders Liverpool at the start of the season.  It is also thought that Wrexham have their eye on the 24 year-old Northern Irish stopper.

 

Rovers have also been linked with out of favour Swansea midfielder Kevin McLeod in the past two weeks but the Scouser has since returned to the Swans starting line-up and has declared his desire to remain at Swansea.

 

Rovers left-back Gareth Roberts is almost certain to leave Prenton Park in the summer and he has once again been linked with a move to Hull City this week.  The Tigers had a £100,000 bid for the Welsh International turned down by Rovers in January and could now land the player on a free as Roberts is out of contract at Prenton Park.

 

Another defender being linked with a move away from Prenton Park is Ian Sharps with Crewe, Cardiff and Swansea believed to be among the Clubs keeping an eye on the former YTS player.
