Macca Chinese deal not on

Former Red, Steve McManaman, was hoping to make a comeback to football playing in a match with Hong Kong Rangers but unfortunately a knee injury has scuppered the deal.
He said:
“With the injuries I have got, I don't think I can play. I would have loved to have played. Unfortunately, it can't happen," he said.
"I think I will play again at some point, but not in a professional capacity.
"I played a couple of months ago for the old Liverpool team against Celtic. That's something I really enjoyed."
He is in no hurry to get back in the game at this point though:
"Life has been very good for me. Football has been very good to me. Football has consumed my life since I was 17. Every day you think about football and every day you prepare for the next game.
"It's nice to step back and travel and see lots of people. I can see more of my family and spend more time with my wife and young child."
