Alonso was ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up a broken ankle in a premiership match against Chelsea, however may make a return sooner than thought.
Alonso didn't have the best start to 2005 when he picked up his broken ankle in a premiership game against Chelsea on the 1st of January.
Frank Lampard commited himself into the challenge and deservedly got a yellow card for what turned out to be a crucial blow to Liverpool's champions league qualification hopes.
Alonso has stated that he holds no grudge against the England midfielder and has fully forgived him for the challenge which caused the injury to the Spaniard.
He looked certain to be out until the summer but has so far made an excellent recovery, which could mean that he will be back sooner than first thought by Liverpool's medical team. Alonso is hopeful of playing again this season.
