The game was in aid of those who lost their lives and those who have not yet been found from the Tsunami disaster. Gerrard took the side of Shevchenko and was captain in the second half of a team full of allstars.
The game finished 6-3 to Ronaldinho's XI which included the likes of Kaka, Deco, Eto'o and also ex-Liverpool defender Rigobert Song. Gerrard was on the side of Andrey Shevchenko's team which included a lot of attack minded players such as Zidane, Beckham and Raul.
Many substitutions took place at half time with the likes of Zola, Henry and Southampton striker Henri Camara. Shevchenko was replaced at half time which aloud Steven Gerrard to take the captains armband in a team full of world class talent.
Certainly one game to remember for the Liverpool captain who hopes to take Liverpool into the Quarter Finals of the Champions League after next weeks fixture against Leverkusen.
