Penney ‘Embarrassed’

Rovers Manager Dave Penney is embarrassed at Doncaster’s show against local rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Doncaster were thrashed 4-0 at home to the Wendies, losing their 11-month unbeaten home record and Dave Penney is promising changes to the squad. 

Penney conceded that Sheffield deserved the win but was frustrated at Rover’s lack of abilty to follow the manager’s instructions. 

Penney said: 

"Nothing went right, everything that could go wrong, did.” 

“We never got the ball down and passed it, and nobody looked like they wanted to." 

Penney has told all his side to, ‘not to expect to play on Boxing Day’, later admitting he meant that not one player has a place guaranteed.
