‘Tired’ says Penney

Dave Penney claimed his team were tired due to the busy festive period and it showed against Bournemouth.
Rovers beat MK Dons 3-0 on Boxing Day, lost 2-1 to local rivals Hull, then drew 1-1 with Walsall on New Years Day before drawing 1-1 with Bournemouth 2 days later.
Penney said:
"I
think playing four games in eight days is asking a bit too much and both sides
looked tired in the first half.”
"There wasn't much zip or sparkle about the play. It was a bad goal to concede
from our point of view on the stroke of half time.”
"In fairness, we picked up after the interval and put them under pressure and I
thought we might have nicked it at the end.”
"They battered us at their place when we lost 5-0 earlier in the season so I
suppose we should be pleased with a point but we're disappointed not to have won
the game."
