Campbell back to Cardiff

Andy Campbell returned to Wales yesterday after Doncaster terminated the loan-contract of the Cardiff striker.

Andy Campbell did not manage to score in his time at Belle Vue and injury also hampered his settling in South Yorkshire.

 

Penney said:

 

“It did not work out as we had hoped for Andy here and to be fair his only start at Torquay was with the wrong sort of partner with Gregg (Blundell) but we wish him well.”

 

“These things happen with it working out as with Browny last season but it was not to be”

 

This leaves Doncaster with only 2 senior strikers, Blundell and Roberts. Lewis Guy is currently only on trial so is ineligible to play in competitive matches and Fortune-West is still injured.
