Is this the way to…Donny Rovers?

Chart-topping Tony Christie is going to appear at the home game against Colchester United on the 1st April before the match.

The veteran singer is currently top of the charts with his song, ‘Is this the way to Amarillo?’, re-released and mimed by Peter Kay.

 

The record was all in the aid of comic relief and has raised a lot of money for the cause.

 

Rovers’ fans have been contacting Christie through email, asking him to perform and the singer very kindly said yes.

 

Christie was born in Conisborough and has stated that he would like for Rovers to come out to ‘Is this the way to Amarillo?’ a song which has been adopted by Bolton, Wigan, Chesterfield and many German clubs as a fans favourite.
