Several media sources are reporting that Sylvain Distin is just a medical away from signing for City. The PSG defender is believed to have agreed to sign for City after Newcastle failed to reach agreement with his club on the transfer fee.

Several media sources are reporting that City have won the race to sign Paris Saint German defender, Sylvain Distin.

As reported yesterday, on these pages, City were believed to be interested in signing Distin after Newcastle failed to reach agreement with PSG on a transfer fee.

The player is reportedly going to cost in the region of £4 million and is believed to be just a medical away from signing for City.

Distin will be Keegan’s second signing of the close season but is unlikely to be his last, a midfielder and forward now being his priorities.

Distin’s arrival is also likely to signal the end of Paul Ritchie’s Maine Road career with Bolton interested in taking the defender back to the Reebok in a permanent deal.
