Anelka talks continue ... City no to Bowyer

An announcement is expected within the next 24 hours on the Nicolas Anelka transfer negotiations as City continue to be locked in talks with PSG. What is certain though is that City will not be showing an interest in transfer listed Lee Bowyer.
Anelka talks continueReports from Maine Road today, suggest that talks are at an advanced stage in the Nicolas Anelka transfer deal. City and PSG are supposed to be locked in talks as to a final transfer fee and an announcement is expected in the next 24 hours. Any deal is expected to include Cameroon international, Lucien Mettomo, moving in the opposite direction.Once City have finalised talks with PSG they are then expected to sit down and thrash out terms with Anelka and his agent. It is expected that Anelka could be a City player by next week. The chances that Anelka would have to nip off to Korea and Japan have receded today with the French coach announcing that Thierry Henry should be fit for the World Cup Finals.
City no to BowyerThe official City website have today announced that City are unlikely to be interested in signing Lee Bowyer from Leeds. Bowyer is believed to be available for around £15 million, with both Arsenal and Liverpool interested.City believe this figure to be far to high and are refusing to get involved in an auction for the player. Much more likely is the attempt to sign Marc-Vivien Foe. Negotiations are still ongoing but City are confident of getting their man.
