Keegan to keep six forwards

Kevin Keegan today put the "NOT FOR SALE" sign up on his six first team forwards. Keegan want's all six to fight for a first team place and to provide cover when needed.

Keegan believes that he needs six forwards, not only for competition for places, but to allow a squad rotation system to be played and to provide ample cover for injuries.Despite speculation that the recent purchases of Anelka and Vuoso would mean the end of the Goat’s Maine Road career, it would now appear that Keegan intends to give him every opportunity to fight for a first team place. Despite these guarantees from the boss it is still hard to believe that all six forwards will figure, indeed Keegan himself has said if an offer for a player is right for Manchester City he will be allowed to leave. Personally I would be very surprised if all six forwards are still at the club come the end of the season. |
