Jensen plays a part in dumping the French

Niclas Jensen played from the start as Denmark dumped the reigning World Champions, France, out of the World Cup. Denmark won the game 2-0 and now stand a chance of facing England in the next round.

Jensen helps dump World Champions

City’s Danish defender, Niclas Jensen, played the full 90 minutes as Denmark beat France 2-0 to dump the World Champions out of the World Cup at the group stage.

Jensen played on the left side of a Danish defence that denied the French the room they needed and consequently kept a clean sheet.

The 2-0 result coupled with Senegal’s 3-3 draw with Uruguay means that Denmark top group A with 7 points.

Jensen could find himself up against England in the next round if England only manage to finish second in their group.

Jensen has become the first City player to reach the last 16, two more attempt it this afternoon with one of them likely to fail at the others expense. Richard Dunne is in the Irish squad that need a 2-0 win against Saudi Arabia to qualify whilst Lucien Mettomo’s Cameroon are probably going to have to beat Germany to proceed.
