New Assistant ?

Motherwell manager Terry Butcher is hoping to appoint former Dundee United coach Maurice Malpas as his assistant manager. Terry's current assistant Chris McCart will take over the under - 18 side when the departing George Adams takes over his post at Ibrox.

Maurice who made 644 appearances for the Arabs before taking a coaching role at Tannadice was sacked last month along with United manager Paul Hegarty after a poor run of results. He has played under Jim McLean at Tannadice and also starred for Scotland so will bring load's of experience to Fir Park if appointed.

It's not the first time this season Terry has took someone from Dundee United, sacked United manager Alex Smith joined Motherwell in a consultant role to Terry Butcher before moving to Ross County.
