Pay per view channel Sentanta have announced they will make a bid for live SPL matches for the start of next season.
The Irish station are reported to be ready to come in with a bid of £40m over a four year period for a live package deal. SPL bosses favour the bid from Sentanta as matches would not be shown on terrestial television which has been blamed for the drop in attendances ( not that the lack of competition was to blame ).
A 3pm kick off on a Sunday afternoon is the most likely time of live matches.
The number of live matches shown each season will also drop from 48 to 38.
