Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has challenged the club's fans to make Jonathan Woodgate's decision to turn his back on Real Madrid for him.

The 26-year-old England defender will make the first appearance of his loan spell back at his home-town club at the Riverside Stadium once again wearing the captain's armband.
Woodgate turned in superb individual displays in the draws at Arsenal and Bolton before being rested for Wednesday night's Carling Cup disaster against Notts County.
He arrived on Teesside after two injury-wrecked seasons in Madrid desperate to prove himself to Real boss Fabio Capello once again.
However, Boro have an option to buy at the end of the season if they can persuade him his future lies closer to home, and Southgate believes the fans have a major role to play.
Southgate said: "He will get a terrific reception tomorrow.
"To a large degree, the response he feels from the fans and the view he has of playing for the club at home and the atmosphere at home will play a big part in deciding whether he wants to be here at the end of the season.
"Judging by the reaction from our away fans, he will get a terrific reception tomorrow."
Southgate's retirement after he was asked to replace Steve McClaren at the helm robbed the club's supporters of their talisman.
His commanding performances and leadership were invaluable, and his celebration after victories became an eagerly-awaited trademark.
But the 36-year-old is confident Woodgate can replace him in the crowd's affections.
He said: "I had good relationships with the fans at all my clubs, but I never felt quite taken in as much as I was by the supporters here.
"That had a big impact on me and certainly made me feel very welcome - and I was impressed with it given that I am from London.
"For Jonathan, it will be even more significant. Having been in this area for a while, I know how much they will enjoy having a Middlesbrough boy captaining the side tomorrow."
Boro go into tomorrow's game keen to erase the memories of the midweek defeat by Coca-Cola League Two County by restoring order on their own pitch.
Their last Barclays Premiership game at the Riverside ended in a 4-0 drubbing by Portsmouth, and that is a situation they need to address as a matter of urgency.
However, injuries will once again hamper Southgate as he attempts to pick his side.
Skipper George Boateng, midfielder Stewart Downing, and defenders Chris Riggott, Ugo Ehiogu and Julio Arca are all still out injured, while £6million signing Robert Huth is still lacking match fitness after ankle surgery.
Downing's absence with a groin strain has left the manager without one of his more progressive players, but at the same time, has given another of the club's emerging talents a chance.
Adam Johnson, 19, is highly-rated on Teesside, and while Southgate will protect him, he will not hesitate to use him when he sees fit.
He said: "Adam is a fantastic talent. He is in the very early stages of his development, but he is a player who can beat people.
"He is a bit of an old-fashioned winger and it is for us to handle him in the right way and expose him at the right times and to help him mature.
"We are aware he is very young, but sometimes you need to give people like that their head."
