Clan Royal replaced Hedgehunter as the favourite for the Grand National after sustained support on Tuesday.

Coral cut him to 9/2 from 5/1 in the face of mounting support and eased the friendless Hedgehunter to 5/1 from 4/1.

"All the money this week has been for Clan Royal while Hedgehunter is proving completely friendless in comparison", explained Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

"With McCoy on board and given the massive ante post support this week, Clan Royal will definitely start favourite for the Grand National", added Clare.

Clan Royal is still generally available at 11/2.

In other moves on the race, Jack High is in to 14/1 from 16/1 and Garvivonnian is in to 16/1 from 20/1 with Coral, while a number of other horses have been eased.

Christian Williams sees last year's winner Hedgehunter as the main threat to his mount Royal Auclair - one of seven Paul Nicholls runners at Aintree.

"We are 12lb better off with Hedgehunter but I don't think another stone would have stopped him winning last time," said Williams.

"I know he has a lot of weight but you have to give him the greatest respect and if you're looking for the best handicapped runner then Clan Royal has to win it."
