O'Neils move permanent

Joe O'Neil has made his loan move to Chester City a permanent move. After failing to break into the first team here a Deepdale, he has signed a contract with Ian Rush's League two side.

The youngster has joined Chester for a nominal fee, with Preston adding a sell on clause to the contract.

O'Neil only made his full Preston North End debut last month, after a wait of over two years. He has had two previous loan spells one with Bury the other with Mansfield, originally at Chester on loan, he played a trial game at the Deva Stadium before making a sustitute appearance against Swansea at the weekend. O'Neil obviously did enough to impress during his spell on the field, and the club decided to sign Joe on a more permanent basis in order to free up a loan place in the squad.

O'Neil joins up with former Preston team mate Micheal Brown who is also at League two club on loan.
