With Preston North End having the sort of season we could only of dreamed of, the manager Billy Davies tells why he thinks that is.

Billy Davies reckons "the small details" are the secret to Preston's team spirit.

North End have lost just once in 19 league matches in a run that has taken them to fourth in the Championship table.

Davies has been delighted with the atmosphere in the Deepdale dressing room since taking over from Craig Brown in August.

"One of the first things I said when I came in was to get around the goalscorer [after he has scored]," Davies said. "That's just one thing we always try to encourage and that's just a small detail.

"Team spirit always comes from winning games and confidence comes from winning games and we're just trying to encourage the work ethic and the small details off the pitch.

"We're not doing anything that hasn't been done before, just trying to do the right things at the right time."
