Lewis to miss rest of season.

Influential Preston winger Eddie Lewis has been ruled out for the rest of the season after having surgery for appendicitis. Its a big blow for Preston as Eddie was having a great season for us and Preston don't really have another natural left winger in the squad.

Lewis, 29, did not travel with the rest of the squad for the game against Millwall on Sunday after the condition was discovered on Saturday.

North End manager Billy Davies told the club website: "It's disappointing for both Eddie and us.

"But the important thing is that he is alright and concentrates on getting a speedy recovery."
