| Reports suggest that Sheffield United
are interested in bringing former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dave
Beasant to Bramall Lane on a free contract.
The move is followed by Dutch keeper surprisingly making a free transfer back to Holland leaving United with just injured Simon Tracey as cover for Paddy Kenny. Warnock said: "Dave and his agent both know that we are a goalkeeper short here and I have left it in their hands to see if they want to come and join us.He would be ideal for us because he has so much experience, is a very good goalkeeper,he is not cup-tied and he would come here on a free transfer which would mean I still had three loan signings available to me." However there is a low key rumour that Neil Warnock could go for Sheffield Wednesday keeper Kevin Pressman should the Beasant deal fall through. Though Pressman signed a new deal last summer and it would take a very good deal for him to leave his beloved Hillsbrough (he's Welcome to it). |
