Simon Tracey Given Testimonial

Long-serving keeper Simon Tracey has been granted a testimonial match this summer in recognition of his 14-year service at Bramall Lane.

It is hoped that a game against top English or Scottish opposition can be arranged.

Tracey, who joined Sheffield United from Wimbledon in October 1988, has his sights set on reaching the 400-game milestone for The Blades next season.

It is understood that Tracey's testimonial committee are trying to set up a match against Glasgow Rangers, but if that cannot be arranged, other big clubs will be contacted.

Tracey's testimonial will be the highlight of the pre-season programme. A three-match tour of the West Country has already been arranged and Neil Warnock will also take the squad to his former club Huddersfield Town on July 30.
