Blades fan goes on trial to Middlesborough

Middlesbrough have offered a trial to Sheffield United target Michael Boulding, who today said ambition, not money, may see him quit Grimsby Town.

The striker is one of Neil Warnock's targets as he bids to assemble a team that can win promotion to the Premier League.

Boulding was born in Steel City his boyhood team was The Blades, but an opportunity to secure a move to the Premiership would surely prove very hard for him to resist.

Boulding to day said he is happy to stay with Mariners and admits he would only quit Blundell Park to 'further his career' and not for money.
The 26-year-old has been offered new terms and is currently out of contract with The Mariners.

However, he is not going to be rushed into signing for Town or any other club.

He said. "The offer Grimsby Town have given me is fine. If I leave it will be because I want to further my career and it won't be because of money.

"All along I've said that I'm happy at Grimsby Town but people don't seem to hear me say that. I am and that's all there is to say really."
