Ford to Royals

Bobby Ford is being tipped to join Reading, as he prepares to have talks with several interested clubs after being released by United.

Ford was previously with Oxford United and he is known to be keen on returning South.

The 27-year-old now looks set to join First Division new-boys Reading, with his experience bound to make him a valuable addition to Alan Pardew's squad as they adjust to life in Division One.

Ford made 185 appearances for United after signing from Oxford for £400,000 in November 1997.
