West Bromich Albion Turn Down Friendly

West Brom have declined United's invitation to play in a pre-season friendly at Bramall Lane, opting to take on Port Vale instead.

Albion were involved in a hot-tempered outing against The Blades just 10 weeks ago - a game labelled 'The Battle of Bramall Lane'.

Neil Warnock had three of his players red-carded and, with two more injured, the match had to be abandoned with Albion leading 3-0.

The First Division side were interested in taking on Premiership new-boys Albion on the weekend of August 3/4, but Albion have declined the invitation.

Megson's promotion winners have confirmed that they will take on Second Division outfit Port Vale at Vale Park that weekend.
