Neil Warnock's hopes of snapping up Manchester City's Shaun Goater have been knocked back, with Kevin Keegan keen to keep all his strikers.

The City boss now has six forwards at his disposal following the signings of Argentinian ace Matias Vicente Vuoso and former Arsenal frontman Nicolas Anelka.

But Keegan insists he will need all six in next season's Premiership campaign, ending Warnock's plans to bring Goater to Bramall Lane.

The Bermudan, who has notched close to a century of goals in all competitions in four seasons at Maine Road, was also reportedly attracting the attention of Wolves and Preston.
