Marcelo May Move Abroad

Marcelo may be forced to head back to the Continent after being released as part of Walsall manager Colin Lee's end-of-season Bescot clear-out.

The Brazilian-born marksman, who joined Walsall in a short-term deal from local rivals Birmingham City in February, has found interest from clubs in this country has been minimal.

That may change after the World Cup Finals have ended and the transfer market should get back into full swing.

But he has had firm offers from clubs in Spain and Portugal that he will have to consider if he fails to secure any suitable interest from clubs in England.

Marcelo struggled to make a success of his move to Bescot and was only able to score one goal for The Saddlers.

He also suffered from injury problems and ended the season on the sidelines with Lee pairing Jorge Leitao and the versatile Australian international Steve Corica in attack.
