Blades Wait on Boulding

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock may wait and see whether Michael Boulding makes a move to Middlesbrough before deciding his transfer plans.

Boulding, who is out of contract at Grimsby at the end of this month, features high on Warnock's list of summer targets.

But the 27-year-old striker has been offered a two-week trial at Middlesbrough.

Warnock thought he had an ace up his sleeve as Boulding hails from Sheffield and is a lifelong Blades fan.

But the chance to secure a Premiership move will be a massive incentive for the former professional tennis player.

Warnock has other strikers in mind as he bids to improve United's dismal scoring record last season. But he could hold fire until it becomes clear where Boulding's future lies.
