Head coach Scott Morgan expressed delight at Coventry’s response to their defeat at Wharfedale a week earlier after Saturday’s ten-try demolition of Blackheath at the Butts Park Arena.
Full-back Cliffie Hodgson amassed a personal haul of 28 points – including a hat-trick of tries in the first 28 minutes – as Cov recorded a 63-21 win, their highest league score for 13 seasons.
“It was great to see the boys produce such a positive reaction to last week,” said Morgan. “I’m very happy. We know we have got players in the backs who can cause problems for anyone, but you have got to get the right ball to them and the forwards did that today.
“We had made some changes, there has to be consequences if performances aren’t right, but positive play will always be rewarded and the boys who get the jobs done will get the games.
