Personally I can't see that the changes that have even made in the backs are a reflection of what possibly went wrong last week. Although its good to see Davies back.
IMO the half backs have to perform this week and show they can dominate and dictate the game.

Good to see Liam starting, has been an outstanding performer when given the opportunity.

Assuming Matt Price is injured?

I doubt that Matt being dropped is injury. It may have a lot more to do with line out throwing, where both hookers have been having problems.

Could also be for poor lifting. Given that both hookers have the same problem.

If both hookers have throwing problems, changing between them won't help that?

Oh for stability and consistent team selection. Perhaps injury accounts for the frequent changes. It's difficult to keep up with the constant changes.

This all seems a bit odd to me.

We have a large squad, (39 at last count but there is also another new name this week - Reece Marshall).

By all accounts last weeks defeat was pretty awful and we have seemingly responded by moving the same 20 players between the bench and various positions on the field.

As far as I can see Ian Clark is the only player from last week who has not retained a place on the bench. Apart from that its the same people, just in different positions.

Are the other 20+ squad players really not worth consideration? Even if just to show last weeks players that the performance wasnt good enough?

I remain at a loss........

For me every timel we loose random selection issues arise.
The sign of a good side on and off the pitch is honesty about performance and clarity over selection

We all know that rugby is a very physical game, players pick up knocks and niggles that we are not aware of. Having played the game I can understand this, and a week is not always long enough to recover full fitness.most of our squad have other jobs and also train twice a week, we have to rely on the coaches to take this into consideration when making team selection.I have every confidence in their ability to do this and respect their decisions ( even though we sometimes d'ont agree.). I think to call team selection random is a little unfair. Good Luck today lads..!

I am the first to express disappointment, but I suppose we need to give the new coach the time to sort his team and his tactics.

if the aim is promotion...you don't get much time...if its stability..then yet another season passes by

I agree, its a frustrating time rehabilitating this rugby club. Many won't see us back in the top tier and even I at 60, am doubtful that I might, but the championship is do-able.

We just have to hope wonders can be achieved and see the likes of Wasps and Harlequins back here on a regular basis.

I know the aim must be to access Premiership funding streams, but I'm really not a fan of Premiership Rugby - and certainly not 'at any cost'.

Anyone else agree?

If we can only afford Championship that's where we should stay, risking all again is not an option.

Or to combine this thread with the one about BPA,

"The green green grass of home?"

The ambition of every club must be to get to the top. Take a poll of the supporters. I'm sure they aspire to the Premiership.

Of course we supporters aspire to the Premiership, but it's not exactly rocket science that we simply don't have the funds, the sponsorship or the infrastructure.
Much as it would be enbelievably good to see Premiership rugby at BPA, surely we have absolutely no chance for the next several years at least.
Ambition and aspiration is a very good thing, but it must go hand in hand with realism.

I didn't suggest that salvation is nigh, merely that the Premiership must be Cov's aim. Agreed that promotion even to the Championship is not likely in the short term.
