We smashed Fylde hardly surprising they keep faith in the scrum half. I am also a fan of barker but the bench has Myring who has played SH and can cover other positions
It's a real shame for Lewis, going from my player of the year last year, and representative call up, to not featuring in the squad! I understand rotation, but this isn't rotation, silver is being selected ahead of Lewis, and personally as I've said before I just haven't seen anything more that silver brings to the position than Lewis offers. In fact I think Lewis works waaaay harder than silver, and has shown far more passion. Oh well, that's just my opinion. :-(
However on a more positive note, it's good too see a settled team, and will be good to maybe see Gere play tomorrow. Lets hope mr Hyde turns up at Loughborough tomorrow and not Dr Jekyll!! Or do have that the wrong way around!?
I suppose it is all about performance. I like Lewis as scrum half but I guess he played against either Wharfedale or Blydon, didn't play well and lost his place to Silver who has gone on to keep his place. I didn't notive Silver last week but I guess that might be a good thing as it means he was getting the ball out quickly to the backs. If you want to keep your place you need to play well week in week out otherwise you risk losing your place and have to bide your time.
If Barker was brought back I think Silver could feel rightly peeved. If he doesn't play well this weekend then perhaps Barker back next week. Competition for places!
Shame that with the subs numbers at this level you need a scrumhalf on the bench who can cover a couple of positions.
