Coventry Rugby side announced to face Cinderford away.

The Coventry Rugby side to face Cinderford away this coming Saturday 21st December 2013 kick off 2.30 pm has just been announced. There are 6 changes including 2 positional ones from the side that started against Doncaster Knights with a further 3 changes amongst the replacements.
In total there are three new debutants named in the full squad, with new back signing Rob Knox signed this week from Barkers Butts, together with two Leicester Academy dual registered players , flanker Ed Milne and lock/flanker Matt Hubbart.
Cliffie Hodgson reverts to fullback position in place of Barry Davies, whilst Rob Knox comes straight into the side into the centre position.
In the forwards Danny Hobbs comes in from the bench to replace Andy Brown, whilst there is a return for Chris Locke at hooker. Brett Daynes retains his lock position after coming in for Scott Morgan whilst there a debut for new Leicester Academy signing Ed Milne at No 6.
Amongst the replacements there is a recall for Chad Thorne and Matt Price reverts to the bench in place of Ignas Darkintis. There is also another debut for a Leicester Tigers Academy player Matt Hubbart.

good luck to the team for saturday. they will have to have the cov dog out to bring home the points from cinderford who probably smell a victory.
i know thereare lots of injuries but it seems odd to bring in a new centre straight from lower league rugby and have myring on the bench. also worried about the scrum/lineout without a 2nd recognised lock.

Probably not the recognised first team squad, but there are going to be players out there looking to make their mark, could be very interesting. Fair play to Daynes'y sticking with the engine room a real club man. C'MON COV.

Lippert is leaving the site. I do not want to be seen as the negative moaning Minnie, but this takes the biscuit. The backs have strength in depth (or else the coaches cant assess the players they have recruited and agreed to contract with and pay). So, when Mr.Knox comes along he is selected in front of the other players that have gone through training etc in order to be considered for selection. Quite what a 24 - 28 year old gains by training and then not being considered for selection I do not understand. This really is a nonsense and I am at a loss as to what message it sends out. Lewis Barker seems to have acted most honourably as it appears to me. Anyway, rather than offend I will cease, but this is man management at its very worst. Apologies for the outburst. Over and out.

as i have stated in the past the best centres i have seen in the past two years together have been mc bernie and otutaha they seem to compiment one another.calum has had injury problems this season but is on loan at nuneaton so why has he not been recalled

I know I shouldn't but I can only use the example of CCFC who have a new manager who has outlined what he wants and if players don't fit into that they are out?
We don't see what happens in training so will just have to keep the faith

He was training last night at Cov. My guess, from comments made, is that he'll be back at Cov once he is match fit again - which is what he's regaining at Nuneaton.

On related matters, I was down at training last night to get the 'head and shoulder' shots of the new guys for the Richmond H programme.

Will wait to see the outcome of the game before deciding if the team selection is right. Interested to see Will Davis in the Cinders team at loose-head. Didn't realise he left Cov, was this announced on this site?

I too am pretty bemused as to why Callum hasn't been recalled. If he's been playing on loan, surely he would be match fit?! To bring in a new player in his position is pretty insulting.
I agree with another comment made earlier, that Otutaha and Callum play well together.
I've always been told 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'......So all I will say is why hasn't Will Maisey been called back in at number 10??

they must rate Knox fairly highly, as there were other permutations available. He's a young, local product and I'm looking forward to see how he goes.
