Coach Scott Morgan will give another chance to jinxed pair..

Scott Morgan has assured jinxed Coventry duo Gareth Turner and Callum MacBurnie they will be given another chance to prove themselves after the postponement of Saturday’s clash with Richmond meant both missed out on first appearances of the season.

Indeed injury-blighted Turner was set for his first start in the Blue and White, two-and-a-half seasons since he joined from Rugby Lions, before a waterlogged pitch led to the cancellation of Cov’s opening game of 2014.

MacBurnie has not had to wait quite so long, having established himself towards the end of last term the former Mose centre was injured at the start of the campaign only to return at a time when Morgan’s side were in a good run of form.

Both, however, played against in the post-Christmas match against a Northampton side and with resources stretched in the back row Turner was due to start at No. 8 against Richmond. MacBurnie, who has been on loan at Nuneaton was named on the bench.

But Morgan has promised their time will come. “They’ll both get their opportunity, there is no doubt about that,” the head coach said.
