Backs coach Pete Glackin conceded that Coventry were some way below their best as they cemented fifth place in National League One with a narrow 20-17 home win over Richmond.
Cov trailed the Londoners for a large part of the game before snatching victory when full-back Barry Davies put over a huge 58-metre penalty kick in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
“It was just a grind-out win,” said Glackin. “We didn’t play particularly well and we made a lot of errors.
“Our games always seem to be tight against Richmond, they are a well-organised side and we knew it was going to be hard work to get somewhere near our performance from the previous week against Worthing.
