Coventry Rugby are pleased to announce that their retained list of players from last season has increased to 19 with the news that Sam Pailor, Matt Tibbatts and Brett Daynes have all signed on again for the forthcoming season.
Sam Pailor, aged 25 plays either as No 6 or 8 and has also played as lock, joined Coventry Rugby in October last season after spells at Championship sides Bedford Blues and Doncaster Knights. Sam has also represented Wales at U 20’s level. Sam made an immediate impact at Coventry Rugby, being a hard tackling mobile back row forward. After just getting back match fit he unfortunately suffered an horrific facial injury but since recovering has been an ever present in the Coventry side making 16 appearances including 1 as a replacement and scoring 3 tries. Now settled in the Coventry area Sam very much looks forward to the new season and being part of the Coventry squad challenging for promotion.
Coventry Rugby are pleased that two of their more experienced players Matt Tibbatts and Brett Daynes have renewed their ties with the Coventry club.
Matt Tibbatts, aged 25 starts his fifth season with Coventry Rugby. Preferring to play at No 8 Matt has also played in all back row positions. A hard working player Matt gives a different aspect to the back row especially on the heavy grounds. Making 20 appearances including 2 as replacements and scoring 2 tries, Matt gives the Coventry club other options in the back row.
Brett Daynes, is another player starting his fifth season at Coventry Rugby. Playing usually as No 6 flanker but occasionally at No 8, Brett last season made 15 appearances including 5 as replacement and scoring 1 try. A very mobile player Brett like Matt gives Coventry Rugby further options in the back row.
